“Rightcliq” from Visa gives online shoppers a new tool to compare prices.
Have you ever wondered what Lou Ferrigno was thinking about to make himself get angry enough to transform into the incredible Hulk? He was probably remembering the time he got ripped off and paid way too much for his creatine supplements. We all know the frustration of finally finding that special something, buying it, and learning a day later that we paid $100 more than what it was worth. Fortunately, Visa has released a new application for online shoppers that will help eliminate this all-too-familiar situation.
Rightcliq, from Visa, is a program designed to help cyber-space shoppers compare prices side by side in real time. A social networking component also allows users to seek opinions from friends and family instantly over the web.
Once you enroll in the Rightcliq program and download the application, a button is placed on your browser's toolbar labeled "Rightcliq by Visa." A Rightcliq account provides users with what's called their Wishspace, which is basically your very own online Christmas list. When shopping online, users click on the Rightcliq button to add an item to their Wishspace. Techno shoppers can also group items to separate the comparisons, say, a group for dresses or a group for shoes. There's also room to make notes about each item. When you return to the Rightcliq site, all of the saved items are displayed in their categories, so you can easily compare prices and other features.
Additional features of Rightcliq allow you to make a purchase directly from the Wishspace. Moreover, Rightcliq can store information for multiple forms of payment so you don't have to re-enter the details for each purchase. The site also offers access to discounts for some retailers and can track order delivery.
Gerry Sweeney, global head of ecommerce and authentication, Visa Inc. told the Associated Press on Monday, "At Visa, we know consumers love to shop online, but they also want better ways to streamline the experience and eliminate some of the frustrations they encounter in the process. Rightcliq is Visa's answer to that consumer demand.."
