American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card offers variety of ways to take advantage of reward points that accumulate every time you use the card. You can earn 10,000 bonus points when you spend $5000 within the first three months - and redeem it for a $100 gift card.
There is no annual fee for the first year, no pre-set spending limit and no interest charges as you pay the account balance in full each month.

Using AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold Card earns you 1 point per each dollar spent (that are eligible). If you use American Express Travel site online you will earn 2x the points for those purchase. Other partners offer points from 2x to 10x per each dollar spent.

You can use the points you earn in variety of ways - over 500 available brands to choose from or you can transfer reward points to airline or hotel partners. There are 20 participating airline partners. You can also use the points for gift cards and merchandise.

This card also comes with roadside assistance when traveling - 24-hrs a day. If you need to rent a car you can be covered by insurance provided by the card - as long as you use your AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold Card.

Preferred Gold Card charges many typical credit card related fees including a late payment - $35 or 2.99% whichever is higher. The annual fee for the first year is waived and after that the annual fee is $125. If you use your AMEX Premium Gold Card abroad there is a 2.7% transaction fee for each purchase or transaction.
